Construction Storm Water

silt-fencing-installed

Construction disturbing over one (1) acre must meet certain requirements and develop a Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP) to mitigate sediment and other storm water pollutants originating from improperly managed construction projects.

Wood County has adopted TMACOG’s SWPPP submission requirements. The goal is to simplify the site plan review process while satisfying Ohio EPA’s Construction General Permit (OHC000005) requirements. This process and the required documentation listed below have been adopted by many jurisdictions in Northwest Ohio.

Lot Construction

Individual lot construction, even if it disturbs under the one (1) acre threshold, is still subject to Wood County’s Erosion and Sediment Control Regulations if it is part of a common plan of development or sale (e.g. lot in a platted subdivision). If your home construction meets this standard, please complete and submit the individual lot construction form.

Rural Residential Development

Residential home construction in Lake, Middleton, Perrysburg, or Troy Townships which disturbs over one (1) acre, but is not part of a larger common plan of development or sale, is subject to Wood County’s Erosion and Sediment Control Regulations. Home builders should complete and submit the lot construction form for such sites. Fees for rural residential development are available in our Fee Schedule. Fees must be made payable to the “Wood County Engineer”.  All fees must be received prior to the application approval.
